Alphonso Keith, a native of St. Petersburg, FL was added to the Lord’s Body at the 20th Street Church of Christ at the age of 16. In 1960 he moved to New York City and there he worshipped with the Washington Heights Church of Christ. It was in this congregation that he met and married his wife Virginia, who is a God-fearing and faithful Christian woman. From their union came one child, Stephanie. Stephanie has blessed him with one grandchild, Joi.
For many years Alphonso served as a Bible school teacher and song leader. However, he began preaching in 1990 with the establishment of the South Jamaica Church of Christ. His fervent belief in evangelism led to the establishment of yet another congregation, the Hollis Church of Christ. It is here that he currently serves as minister.
Alphonso Keith’s ministry is dedicated to the winning of souls to Christ, raising a spiritually educated congregation and preparing young men for service in the Kingdom. He states, "My hope and all that I am is in Christ and will remain so until I am called home."
